Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is a public, four-year institution, one of the 14 state universities that compose the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).
Bloomsburg University is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Ranked as one of the country's top universities in the northeast, Bloomsburg University offers 56 programs leading to bachelor's degrees, 44 undergraduate minors, 19 graduate programs leading to master's degrees and a doctorate in audiology.
Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is most academically noted for its education programs, including its graduate degree program in Instructional Technology, its Elementary & Secondary Education programs, and the Audiology & Speech Pathology program. Additionally, the Bloomsburg College of Business is an AACSB accredited university, the highest level of certification for business colleges.
Bloomsburg University offers a wide array of student activities and programs, modern residence halls, a well-equipped Student Recreation Center and restaurant-quality dining, including an on-campus Starbucks. The university has 18 intercollegiate athletic programs, more than 160 organizations to provide opportunities for leadership and growth and 11 Living Learning Communities that bring together students with common academic interests who live in the same residence hall, participate in activities and enroll in a cluster of related courses. The university actively supports an atmosphere of civic engagement, encouraging students to get involved through political and volunteer activities. More than 750 companies, organizations and agencies provide academic internships to Bloomsburg students. Students also may take advantage of support offerings provided through Academic Advisement, Accommodative Services, Act 101/Educational Opportunity Program, Developmental Instruction, Student Support Services, University Tutorial Services and other programs.

Many financial aid programs are available to BU students. Undergraduate, graduate, part-time and transfer students from every income bracket may be eligible for some type of financial aid — student employment, grants, scholarships or low-interest loans.
