Doane College is a private, independent, coeducational liberal arts college in Crete, Nebraska, with additional campuses located in Lincoln and Grand Island.
U.S.News & World Report has ranked Doane a "Great School at a Great Price" for five consecutive years as well as placed it among the top 25 of 572 Midwestern schools; The Princeton Review has named it one of the "Best Colleges" in the Midwest.
The college is historically affiliated with the United Church of Christ.
Founded in 1872, Doane is Nebraska's first liberal arts and sciences college. It was one of the first institutions in the nation to offer undergraduate students a four-year graduation guarantee.
Doane College offers more than 50 majors and 26 minors. These majors - combined with the successful completion of the Doane Plan, general degree requirements, and relevant additional degree requirements-lead to the awarding of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. It also offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Arts in Management, Master of Arts in Counseling, Master of Education.
Doane College offers pre-professional programs in: Pre-Engineering, Pre-Environmental Studies/Forestry, Pre-Law, Medical, Dental and Allied Health, Pre-Ministry, Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
Courses are grouped into the following five academic divisions: Economics and Business; Education; Fine Arts and Humanities; Science, Mathematics, and Information Science and Technology; Social Science.
The College offers internships, summer research, travel abroad, and other real-world experiences around the globe. A rigorous Honors Program, the unique Zenon C.R. Hansen Leadership Program, a travel scholarship and other innovative programs are also available.
Doane College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and
is a member of the North Central Association
Scholarships and Financial Aid
Doane College awards more than $8 million in financial aid every year. More than 98 percent of the students receive financial aid to assist them with their educational expenses in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, or workstudy programs.
The College offers SMART and TEACH Grants, Federal Stafford Student Loan, Perkins Loan, Parent (PLUS) Loan, SEOG and Pell Grant Programs. Scholarships offered by Doane could be Academic, Extracurricular or Outside Scholarships. Travel Scholarship is available to students wishing to take advantage of Doane's study abroad programs.
